smaller = cooler, 2.0

February 4, 2009

Today is the day of me wanting things I cannot have. Although this blog post is about something that isn’t quite as out of reach as an imaginary tiny computer.

I have almost zero interest in seeing “He’s Just Not That Into You,” except for the fact that I really kind of love Jennifer Aniston and I really am kind of obsessing over Ginnifer Goodwin’s hair in the movie.

I’m in a serious hair rut right now, having had long layers for, oh, the last six years (six years!!!) and bangs for four of those years (four years of bangs!!!). And for some reason I think the solution is chopping off all my hair and starting over.

Of course, I highly doubt I can pull off a wavy bob, as my hair isn’t nearly wavy enough to actually wave at that length, so I think it would just be poofy bob, on my head.

Plus, there are those pesky bangs and I think bangs + bob would = chipmunk cheeks. And as much as I love Alvin & Co., they are not my style icons.

Click below for a selection of Ginnifer’s enviable hair. Ooooh, I had so much fun finding these pics!

  1. Not at all knowing what you look like, but from your description, I think you could pull off Ginnifer’s look here. Her hair isn’t seriously wavy, just slightly, and you could always pin back those pesky bangs with fabulous clips until they grow out a bit. A good stylist can bob ANYONE’S hair.

  2. I know what you mean about the waves. If I had this cut, my head would look like a poofy mushroom. Because I have waves starting about halfway down my head, but it’s straight at the top and that area has a tendency to just lie there, all flat and ugly.

    But man, it looks pretty on her.

    Oh, also, I kind of love Jennifer Aniston too. I’m glad I’m not the only one.

  3. Ah! Bless your heart, I have been wanting to get my hair cut like Ginnifer ever since seeing the film (twice…) but was unable to locate more than one or two pictures of the style online. So, thank you! 🙂
    Isn’t it just adorable on her? My hair is quite wavy, so I’m hoping that with some product it will be tamed down enough, yet still wavy, to pull off her look. *fingers crossed* I’m in a rut with my hair as well, ALso long layers. Now, if I can only have the courage to do it! Oi…
    In your opinion, is Ginnifer’s hair slightly shorter in the back/longer in the front with a slight gradual bang to one side? Oh, and without any layers?
    The film was quite good, in my opinion; I laughed quite a few times and who wouldn’t enjoy a cast like THAT? Not the ‘best’ movie but worth seeing if you enjoy chick flicks at all. Ok, sorry for rambling…thank you again for the pictures! 🙂

  4. I think I’m going to print out this post and then take it to a stylist that costs more than $20 and ask them if I can pull off that look. My curly/wavy/frizzy, bra strap length hair is really starting to piss me off. I tried layered bangs and long layers and it all looks pretty much the same without styling. I’m all about the no-style styling.
